Apple Chai Smoothie

I am already in the holiday spirit and have begun recipe testing for some delicious treats for the season.⁣

If you love smoothies but are having a hard time drinking them with the cooler weather, try this warm apple chai smoothie! ⁣

You can add warming spices to this smoothie like cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger and allspice. ⁣

I also added a bonus ingredient into this recipe….algae oil. ⁣

Wait! Before you say no thanks to algae oil, let me tell you the benefits of this oil! ⁣

Algae oil is a natural source of omega-3s. Omega-3 is an essential fatty acid. The body is not able to produce them on its own and receives omegas through our diet. ⁣

In reality, most people are not consuming enough omega-3s in their diets and this is when supplementing can be very beneficial. ⁣



Omega-3s are known for being anti-inflammatory and may help relieve inflammatory bowel disease. This oil can help to reduce inflammation in the digestive tract and can help those with IBS, leaky gut, celiac, Crohns and colitis. ⁣

Algae oil is also beneficial during pregnancy and for nursing mothers. Studies have shown that omega-3s improve a child’s brain development. ⁣

It is also great for eye health, cardiovascular, memory and cognitive development!⁣


Ok, so now for the recipe my friends.⁣

Warm Apple Chai Smoothie⁣:
1 cup coconut or almond milk⁣
1 Tbs. nut/seed butter⁣
1 Tbs. chia seeds⁣
1 tsp. cinnamon⁣
dash of nutmeg⁣
dash of ginger⁣
dash of cloves⁣
½ tsp. allspice⁣
½ tsp. vanilla⁣
1 cup apple sauce, unsweetened ⁣
½ cup cauliflower, steamed⁣
1 medjool date or ½ banana⁣
1 ml of Algae Oil⁣

Place all ingredients into the blender until smooth! ⁣
