Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Place parchment paper in the bottoms of two 8 " circular cake pans. Rub coconut oil on the sides of the pans to prevent sticking.
In a mixer, combine coconut flour to sea salt together.
Place dates in a bowl and cover with hot water for 5 minutes to soften them up. Keep the water for later.
Once soft, remove them from the water and add them to a highspeed blender along with the apple sauce.
Once the sauce is smooth, add it to the mixer along with 1/3 cup of the date water.
Pour the batter into two 8" cake pans. Place in the oven for 25-30 minutes. If you are making cupcakes, they will take less time, approx. 20 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let cool.
