Savoury Sweet Potato Mash

Savoury Sweet Potato Mash is unbelievably fluffy and creamy, healthy and so easy to make. Delicious side dish for a weeknight dinner or a holiday table. These are so good!

Is it too early for fall recipes? I sure hope not because I am so excited for savoury cozy dishes.

Sweet potato mash is my husband Stefan’s favourite. He loves it as a side with a roasted chicken and asparagus.

I love how quickly this side dish can be prepared and it can be paired with so many items. Throw it in a salad, fry it up with some eggs, pair it with a perfectly grilled steak. So many options!

Can You Freeze Mashed Sweet Potatoes?

Yes. Place in an airtight glass container and freeze for up to 3 months. Thawing will take less time if you freeze mash in smaller portions or thinner layer.

To reheat mashed sweet potatoes, simmer on low with a splash of dairy-free milk to rehydrate. Stir constantly to prevent burning. That’s it. Easy-peasy.

  • 2 tbs. ghee (or coconut oil)
  • 1/4 cup bone broth
  • 1/2 tsp. sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. dried basil

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Rinse and scrub potatoes to remove any excess dirt.
  • Place potatoes on a lined baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 45-60 minutes.
  • Once the potatoes are cooked, remove them from the skins and place in a mixer. Mix on medium-high speed for a couple of minutes. If you do not have a mixer, you can place the potatoes in a bowl and use a masher instead.
